Atlantska plovidba is an esteemed, and by global criteria, well-established company that is continuing the centuries long Dubrovnik maritime tradition. The company has been operating since 1955. Its basic activities are related to the bulk cargo transport but it had also success in tourism sector. The policy of Atlantska plovidba d.d. is to maintain an independent position in the markets for bulk and heavy cargo and to consistently meet and satisfy the needs and expectations of domestic and international clients. This is achieved by high management standards with a particular emphasis on the maritime security.

The company was founded in 1947 with main goal of supplying safe sea passages, cleaning of the shipping lanes, ports and the shipyards. As a professional rescue service on the eastern side of the Adriatic, Brodospas has performed many rescue and salvage tasks, including the removal of wrecks and raising of sunken ships in the Adriatic and the Mediterranean.

The basic activity of the company is to provide maritime-technical services, such as towing, maintenance of drilling platforms, handling platforms’ anchors at offshore oil and gas sites, the transport of people and cargo, and the supply of offshore oil and gas installations.

Jadranski pomorski servis d.d. began operations in 1956 as OOUR Plovni objekti - part of the Port of Rijeka. In 1989, the name was changed to the current one after which became a joint stock company in 1994. The basic activity of the company is to provide towing services, salvage services, lifting heavy freight with a pontoon crane, the transport of petroleum and petroleum derivatives and ecological protection of the sea. As a marine salvage company, it is an important factor for secure navigation in the northern Adriatic. Its most frequent interventions are the floating of grounded ships, extinguishing fires aboard ships and towing disabled ships to the port.

As of 31 December 2017, the company operates 12 tugs, 3 barges, and 1 pontoon crane; total tonnage: 5,327 GT and 3,178 DWT.

Jadrolinija was founded on 20 January 1947 in Rijeka as the successor to various associations of small coastal shipowners dating back to 1872, giving it a passenger ship tradition of more than 100 years. Its basic activity is regular maritime transportation of passengers and cargo, connecting the islands with the mainland, and maintaining coastal and international lines.

The largest national passenger line, Jadrolinija Rijeka has a fleet of 50 ships, 37 of which are ferries, 4 passenger ships and 9 catamarans; total tonnage:  114,025 GT.

Uljanik Plovidba is a joint stock company founded in Pula in 1986 as part of the Uljanik Shipyard Group. After privatization in 1998, it left the Uljanik Group and became an independent company, keeping its original name as proof of it strong maritime tradition in the Istria region. In 2003, its shares were included in the stock market and are today quoted on the Official Market of the Zagreb Stock Exchange, the highest rated quotation in which stock can be included. FIRST HYDROGEN POWER PLANT IN US PORT

Toyota is building what it calls the world's first Megawatt-scale 100% renewable power and hydrogen plant at the US Port of Long Beach.

The Tri-Gen facility will be the first Toyota facility in North America to use 100% renewable power using bio-waste sourced from California agricultural waste to generate water, electricity and hydrogen.

IBIA Pointers for Problem Fuels: What Should Ship Owners Do?

A significant number of ships have experienced serious operational problems – chiefly sticking/seizing fuel pumps and in some cases filter blockages – after lifting bunker fuels from the US Gulf region since late March and during April/May. Most cases have reportedly been caused by intermediate fuel oils (IFOs) bunkered in the Houston area, though there are indications that similar problems have been caused by fuels bunkered in Panama.
