Alpha Adriatic is a joint stock company founded in Pula in 1986 as part of the Uljanik Group under the name Uljanik Plovidba. After privatization in 1998, it left the Uljanik Group and became an independent company, keeping its original name as proof of its strong maritime tradition in the Istria region. In 2003, its shares were included in the stock market and are today quoted on the Regular Market of the Zagreb Stock Exchange under the ticker ULPL. The ownership structure is comprised of 4,200 exclusively private shareholders, primarily Croatian residents.

Jadrolinija was founded on 20th January, 1947 in Rijeka and is the successor of various associations of small coastal shipping companies since 1872, thus carrying on the centuries-old tradition of passenger shipping.
The main activity of the Company is the line (regular) maritime transport of passengers and cargo, connecting islands with the mainland, maintenance of long-shore and international lines. In addition to the fact that Jadrolinija sailing is crucial for the development of island communities throughout the year, it is also a key factor in Croatia's tourist offer. The number of transported passengers is increasing year by year and reaches 12 million passengers and more than 3.5 million vehicles.
Today Jadrolinija manages 59 ships, of which 39 ferries for local lines and two ferries for international lines, 14 catamarans and four passenger ships.
